The Intersection of eDiscovery and Data Security Incidents

Lindsay Nickle is a partner in the Dallas office of Lewis Brisbois and a vice chair of the Data Privacy & Cybersecurity Practice. She helps clients by overseeing the process of investigating data security events and interpreting the myriad state and federal laws governing data breach response. Lindsay also guides clients through regulatory investigations arising from data security incidents. In her role as a breach coach, Lindsay assists her clients with navigating the complex process of responding to the loss, theft or compromise of protected information. Past clients include educational institutions, insurance companies, health care providers, accountants, retail merchants, hotels, restaurants, utilities, and governmental entities. Lindsay has acquired focused, specific, and relevant experience with the standards and issues unique to the payment card industry and routinely provides guidance and advice regarding regulatory compliance within the financial industry.

Joseph Tarraf is the Managing Director of Cybersecurity in the Americas for S-RM. He helps clients across a range of cyber security disciplines, with a focus on incident response. Previously, Mr. Tarraf worked in cyber security consulting at PwC and Deloitte. Mr. Tarraf holds Computer Engineering and Political Science degrees from Concordia University.

Evan Michailidis practices in the area of litigation, with a focus on complex commercial litigation; domestic and international white-collar criminal defense, including Foreign Corrupt Practices Act investigations; class action defense; products liability; and employment litigation. Mr. Michailidis is listed in the 2012-2019 editions of New York Super Lawyers as a Rising Star.

Mr. Michailidis is a 2006 graduate of Emory School of Law and a cum laude graduate of Columbia University.

Sean Oak has spent the last 15 years building highly efficient eDiscovery delivery teams focused on quality, scalability and service. His approach to providing white glove relationship management no matter the size and scope of the project has led him and the teams that he works with to be highly successful in helping clients drive towards cost and process efficiency. Over his litigation services career he has worked in various capacities on some of the largest cases in US history. Sean brings lessons learned not only from his time in eDiscovery, but also from his technology startup and customer service background prior to entering the industry as a Project Manager. He has led project management, vendor management, managed services, and SaaS delivery teams in the litigation services world prior to his current stint of providing business and strategy guidance as a Director for Conduent LCA’s Managed Review offering.

Sal Mancuso is Senior Director of Delivery for Conduent’s Legal, Compliance & Analytics Solutions. He has designed and successfully run Litigation Support and eDiscovery departments for over 25 years. Since his start in legal community in 1988, he has worked alongside attorneys at law firms such as Proskauer Rose, Willkie Farr and Greenberg Traurig. Sal has established himself as an expert in the field of eDiscovery, providing law firms and their clients assistance with defensible cost-effective workflows and solutions, development of ESI protocols, design of data preservation orders, handling of IT interviews, data mapping, and data collection.
